VA Disability Hub was built with one goal: give veterans a clear, comprehensive, and completely free resource to understand their disability ratings, monthly compensation, and the full scope of benefits they've earned through their service. No lawyers trying to sign you up. No government bureaucratic language. Just straight answers from people who've been through the system.
Why We Built This
The VA disability system is complicated — and that complexity costs veterans real money. Between VA math, secondary conditions, TDIU, Special Monthly Compensation, and the appeals process, most veterans are left piecing together information from outdated PDFs, Reddit threads, and YouTube videos of questionable accuracy.
Our founders are veterans and military family members who spent years navigating the VA system personally. We know firsthand what it's like to receive a rating that doesn't match your actual level of impairment, to not know what secondary conditions you could have claimed, or to miss the window on a supplemental claim because nobody told you the deadline was one year. This site exists to fix that information gap.
Every piece of content on this site is written to help veterans get the benefits they've earned — not to generate ad clicks or serve any commercial interest. If the information doesn't genuinely help a veteran, it doesn't belong here.
Our Editorial Team
The People Behind This Site
Our editorial team includes veterans, military spouses, and researchers with direct experience navigating the VA claims process. All content is reviewed for accuracy against primary sources including 38 CFR regulations, VA.gov official guidance, and published VBA adjudication manuals before publication. We do not publish content that we cannot verify from primary government sources.
Every article on this site goes through a three-step process: (1) research using primary sources — VA.gov, 38 CFR, VBA publications; (2) verification of all pay rates and rating criteria against current official tables; (3) review for accuracy and completeness before publication. We update articles when VA regulations, pay rates, or rating criteria change.
All pay rates on this site reflect the official 2026 VA compensation tables, updated for the 2.8% COLA adjustment effective December 1, 2025. We update our data annually when the VA publishes new rates and whenever significant regulatory changes occur that affect veterans' claims.
How We Research Our Content
All content on VA Disability Hub is sourced from official government publications and primary legal sources. We never publish second-hand information without verifying it against the primary source. Our primary references include:
Primary Sources We Use
- VA.gov — Official VA disability compensation rates, eligibility criteria, and claims process guides
- 38 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 3 and 4 — The actual legal standards for rating disabilities, including all Diagnostic Codes
- VBA Annual Benefits Reports — Official data on claim volumes, conditions, and processing times
- Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA) decisions — Published decisions that establish how specific conditions and situations are adjudicated
- Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) decisions — Appellate decisions that set legal standards for VA adjudication
